The published version of this article (Coelho et al. Reference Coelho, Maher, Gaind and Lemmens2023) contains a factual error. In the description of the Alan Nichols case (in the first paragraph under the heading “Lack of oversight”), the article refers to the family filing a complaint to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS). The regulatory college, to which the family complained, is the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia (BCCPS), not the RCPS.

In the “Methods” section, the authors also incorrectly refer to the “Pre-Senate [...] hearings on Bill C-7.” The name of this hearing is the Senate Pre-Study hearing. Additionally, the article has an error in one reference: “Heath Canada testimony 2022” should be “Health Canada Testimony 2021.” The correct full reference is included in the reference section below.

The authors apologize for these errors.
