In its fourteen year history, the World Trade Review has had three editors, but only one Editorial Assistant – Paulette Planchette. Paulette has worked for many years at the World Trade Organisation and for more than a decade as senior assistant to the Organisation's Chief Economist. It was in this capacity that she was involved in launching the Review in 2001 and from which she has found time to assist us ever since.

Paulette retired as Editorial Assistant to the World Trade Review on 31 December 2015, and on behalf of myself and the previous editors, the publishers, and the Editorial Board, I thank her for all she has contributed. Paulette has been instrumental in keeping us to schedule and has provided a friendly and helpful interface not only between the editors and the publishers, but also between the Review and its authors and referees. She has become the human embodiment of the Review.

We will miss Paulette very much and wish her every good fortune in her retirement.
