Influence of Thiamin on Response of Coast Fiddleneck to 2,4-D at Low Temperature

Abstract

A hypothesis that low temperature acts directly on physiological development of coast fiddleneck (Amsinckia intermedia Fisch. and Mey.) by restricting thiamin content, and limiting growth, was investigated. Restoration of normal growth by application of thiamin, made the plant more susceptible to 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) at low temperatures.
