It is with great regret that we learned of the death of R.J. Morris (Bob Morris) on Thursday 27 October 2022. Bob was a key figure in the development of urban history from the early 1970s until the present in the UK and in Europe, hosting the European Association of Urban Historians at Edinburgh in 2002. He was also a friend, supporter and editorial board member of this journal for many years. Bob made a profound impact upon generations of urban historians and will be greatly missed. We will publish a fuller appreciation of Bob and his contribution to urban history in the next issue in May 2023.
