The crystallographic microstructure properties of Al-Ti alloys rapidly solidified by a vacuum melting process were investigated by XRD, SEM, optical observations and DSC analysis. It was found that the microstructures are polycrystalline fine-grained (typically 10—20 µm) of intermetallics in equilibrium with the solid solution Fcc α-Al(Ti) matrix.
