In Israel, music is a vital, living, breathing, pulsating, throbbing, inspiring and devotional part of the lives of the people. In Israel, music seems to fulfil so much of the emotional and spiritual needs of the people, that to the outside observer, the avidity and passion with which it is absorbed, (almost visibly chewed and swallowed) makes it virtually akin to the primal hungers of man.
