page 36 note 1 The first complete performance of Alban Berg's Lulu, for which the short score of Act III had been orchestrated by Friedrich Cerha, took place on 24 February at the Paris Opèra. The conductor was Pierre Boulez, the producer Patrice Chéreau, and the cast included Teresa Stratas (Lulu), Yvonne Minton (Countess Geschwitz), Franz Mazura (Schön/Jack the Ripper) and Kenneth Riegel (Aiwa).
