page 43 note 1 The lecturer may also be carried away by his own enthusiasm: p.89, the sponsor of The Way to the Sea was The Southern Railway, not Southern Railways, and the line in question goes to Portsmouth, not Southampton; pp.111–12, Colwall is not in the Cotswolds and the events recounted took place not in 1936 but (as stated two lines later) in 1937.
