* The recitals by Helffer and Sherman also formed part of the remarkable concert-series ‘Schüler der Wiener-Schule’ held at the Vienna Konzerthaus between 24 March and 6 April. Opening with performances of Nikos Skalkottas's Return of Ulysses Symphony and Egon Wellesz's opera Die Opferung des Gefangenen, the events included other rarely-heard works by Adorno, Hans Erich Apostel, Berg, Eisler, Roberto Gerhard, Karl Amadeus Hartmann, Filipp Herschkowitz (the world première of Drei Gesänge), Erich Itor Kahn, Heinrich Kaminski, Jószef Koffler, René Leibowitz, Hermann Scherchen, Erich Schmid, Skalkottas, Leopold Spinner, Eduard Steuermann, Wellesz, Stefan Wolpe, Zemlinsky (the world première of the chorus Geheimnis and the Austrian première of the recently-discovered Two Movements for string quartet), Winfried Zillig and Josef Zmigorod.
