A number of promising observational programs involving linear polarization measurements are discussed after consideration of the observational limits based on telescope size and instrumental accuracy. These projects include studies of interstellar extinction, circumstellar shells and extended envelopes, inhomogeneities on stellar surfaces such as nonradial pulsation, magnetic stars, and interactive binary systems.
