A program of Hα and Hβ narrow- and intermediate-band photometry of close binaries has been carried out at Biruni Observatory since 1977 and at Villanova University Observatory since 1971. The advantages of this type of photometry for close binary work are discussed. Stars which have extensive coverage are listed and results for Cyg X-1, WZ Sge, W Ser and HR 1099 are briefly discussed.
