Extract

Notification that by God's inspiration and for her own soul she has conceded the abbey the houses and lands Durand son of Walchelin of Sutton, her sworn follower, held as a perquisite and gave the abbey in her manor of Sutton Valence, Kent, reserving the lands Durand held of his inheritance and the houses he had in her borough there. [1231 × 1238]
