As Editor Tim Jull mentioned in the previous issue’s editorial (Vol 59, Nr 1, 2017), in December 2016 Mark McClure moved on from his position as Editorial Manager after 14 dedicated years with Radiocarbon. As the new (and former) managing editor (see Vol 45, Nr 1, 2003 editorial), I am honored to be back at the journal and proud of what has been accomplished under Mark and Tim’s stewardship. Thanks to Mark’s excellent preparation and the steady support of Tim, the associate editors, and our colleagues at Cambridge University Press, the journal has undergone a smooth transition into the 2017 publication year.
Mark addresses the readers in the following editorial. I’m sure I speak on behalf of the Radiocarbon community when I wish him much success and happiness in this new position at the World Health Organization.
