Theda Skocpol, Victor S. Thomas Professor of Government and Sociology, and director of the Center for American Political Studies at Harvard University, became the Association's 99th President on August 31 at the annual Business Meeting of the Association. Outgoing APSA President Robert Putnam of Harvard University presented Skocpol with the Association gavel. Joining Skocpol in guiding the Association are six new officers and eight council members.
