The American Academy of Arts and Sciences has elected 227 new members for 2017 as part of its 237th class. They include some of the world’s most accomplished scholars, scientists, writers, and artists, as well as civic, business, and philanthropic leaders. The new class was inducted at a ceremony on October 7, 2017, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
