Nadia Brown, assistant professor, department of political science, Purdue University, received the Midwest Women’s Caucus for Political Science Early Career Award in April, 2014.

Robert X. Browning, associate professor, department of political science, Purdue University, received a grant from the C-SPAN Education Foundation to fund a C-SPAN conference this fall at Purdue.

Durr Award for the best paper applying quantitative methods to a substantive problem in political science at the 2013 MPSA annual meeting, for “Election Laws and Partisan Gains: The Effects of Early Voting and Same Day Registration on the Parties’ Vote Shares.”

Karen Dawisha, Walter E. Havighurst Professor of Political Science and director of the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post Soviet Studies, Miami University, received the Benjamin Harrison Medallion.

Donald Downs, department of political science, University of Wisconsin, Madison, is the 2013-14 recipient of the Hilldale Award for Social Studies.

Joe Dunn, Charles A. Dana Professor and Chair, Converse College, was selected as the CASE/Carnegie Foundation 2013 South Carolina Professor of the Year.

Dalia Fahmy, assistant professor, department of political science, Long Island University/Brooklyn Campus, is co-winner of 2014 GESIS Klingemann Scholarship for the article, “Correct Voting Across Thirty-three Democracies: A Preliminary Analysis,” published in British Journal of Political Science, 44 (March 2013), 239-259.

Jeff Fine, associate professor, department of political science, Clemson University, was awarded both the Frank A. Burtner Award for Excellence in Advising Students and the 2014 Clemson Class of 1940 Douglas W. Bradbury Award for outstanding contributions to the Calhoun Honors College.

Scott Gehlbach, department of political science, University of Wisconsin, Madison, received the Association for Comparative Economic Studies’ Abram Bergson Prize for the best article published in Comparative Economic Studies in the previous two years for his article, “Did Post-Communist Privatization Increase Mortality?”

Ron Hassner, associate professor, Charles and Louise Travers Department of Political Science, University of California, Berkeley, received the 2014 Distinguished Teaching Award at University of California, Berkeley.

Murray Jardine, professor, department of political science, Auburn University, received the Pi Sigma Alpha Outstanding Teaching in Political Science Award.

Jonathan Renshon, department of political science, University of Wisconsin Madison, received the 2013 Best Dissertation Award from the International Society of Political Psychology for “Fighting for Status.”

Artemus Ward, professor, department of political science, Northern Illinois University, received Hughes-Gossett Prize for best paper published on Supreme Court history.

David Weimer, department of political science, University of Wisconsin, Madison, received Beryl Radin Best Article Award from the Public Management Research Association for best 2012 article in the Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory for his article, “Scientific Expertise and the Balance of Political Interests: MEDCAC and Medicare Coverage Decisions” (coauthors Daniel Walters and Stéphane Lavertu).

David Yalof, professor, department of political science, University of Connecticut, received the University of Connecticut Alumni Association Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Crawford Young, department of political science, University of Wisconsin, Madison, received the Best Book Prize from the African Politics Conference Group for the best book in 2012 on African politics for The Postcolonial State in Africa: Fifty Years of Independence, 1960–2010 (Africa and the Diaspora).
