* The CAUT Council in November 1971 passed resolutions advising “all faculty members that they should not accept employment” at Simon Fraser University or at Mount Allison University.

** The CAUT Council in May 1971 passed a resolution which reads: “The CAUT warns faculty members teaching at Simon Fraser University, or considering appointments there, that the safeguards of academic freedom that can normally be anticipated in Canadian universities do not now exist at Simon Fraser, and furthermore that the continued efforts of CAUT to establish those safeguards have not been effective.”
