The Planktonic Activity of Larval Chironomidae in Loch Leven, Kinross

Synopsis

The planktonic movements of larval Chironomidae in Loch Leven, Kinross, are described, together with a provisional list of the species and age groups involved. The importance of this type of behaviour in determining the distribution of larval Chironomidae is discussed.
