1. The canons analysed by Wyn Jones are all produced by US and British musicians (the only exception being Nico, from Germany). This points to the ethnocentricity of rock criticism, a problem which Wyn Jones addresses in her book, but also to commercial considerations, as ‘local’ canons would be hard to reckon with, as they are sold in specific markets.
