The Dogs of the British Graham Land Expedition

Published online by Cambridge University Press:  27 October 2009

Extract

This article is in no way meant to be a full account of our dogs and dog driving, but rather to give a rough idea of the methods we found best adapted to the conditions met with in Graham Land.

Surgeon Lieut.-Com. E. W. Bingham, R.N., was in charge of our dogs and sledging equipment, and he is at present engaged on writing a detailed report, including dog management and breeding, which, if not published, will be housed at the Scott Polar Research Institute, together with specimens of our harnesses, traces, whips, sledges, etc.
