2 Russell's account has the implication that an individual could have an evil character and yet never perform a single evil action. He notes that some might find this implication to be a drawback of his theory, but I do not: sometimes, it seems to me, a person's evil actions reveal the evil that has been within them for a long time previous to action: think of the eventual school-shooter, for example, who has spent years in his basement building up his hatred, resentment, and self-pity.
