Preparation of fossils, as well as their subsequent study and illustration, can be accomplished utilizing a broad spectrum of techniques. Even though some of the procedures require nothing more complex than hammer and chisel, such work can be extremely demanding. Regardless of the techniques employed, the worker must exercise extreme care and patience in performing this work. A fossil specimen simply cannot be replaced!
