The Parable of the Vine in Odes of Solomon 38.17–19?: A Response to Richard Bauckham
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 05 February 2009
Extract
In a previous issue of NTS, Richard Bauckham suggests that Acta Thomae 146 contains a lost parable of Jesus about a vine. The second section of the article comprises a study of Odes of Solomon 38. 16–18 (17–19), in which Bauckham proposes to find certain traces of the same parable. In this short note, I shall be concerned principally with this section of Bauckham's article.

Throughout this article, the numbering of verses will be taken from the Harris/Mingana edition as that has become standard for most scholars of the Odes and such uniformity should be advocated for publications on the Odes in the future.Google Scholar
