page 393 note 1 With respect to some questions, however, the aspect of general international law has been neglected: in the Chapter on asylum as intervention, e.g. (Chapter XVIII), the topic of diplomatic asylum is only dealt with in relation to Latin America. Apart from some casual references the question as to whether there are rules of international law concerning this matter binding upon all States has not even been raised and we have not been able to trace any reference at all to the discussions on this topic within such an authoritative body as the Institute for International Law during its 1950 session and to the report by Mr. Raestad (cf. Annuaire Vol. 43, I and II (1950)).
