Structure of Magnetic Multilayers and Magnetoresistance

Abstract

Magnetoresistance (MR) studies on non-coupled type multilayers are briefly surveyed. As a possible method to enhance MR effect, measurements with current in outof–plane directions are described. Non–coupled type multilayers were prepared on microstructured substrates with V–shaped grooves to measure the MR in a new geometry, with current at–an–angle–to–the–plane, and actually an enhanced MR ratio was observed.
