Abstract

We report here on recent work aimed at clarifying the definition of various atomic-level stress measures and the relationships between them. We also offer a definition for the local elastic constants. Finally, we examine the convergence of volume-averaged versions of these quantities to their continuum counterparts as the length scale, the radius of the averaging volume in the present case, approaches the continuum scale.
