It is well known [1] that the majority of the classical polymers are incompatible. This means that it is impossible to mix them without having phase separation. This is sometimes advantageous for industrial applications but, from a fundamental point of view, it makes it difficult to measure the interaction parameter X between these polymers (for this purpose one has to have the two polymers in a single phase).
