New Method for the Measurement of Electro-optic Constant of Polycarbonate Films Doped with 4-Diethylamino-4′-Nitrostilbene Molecules
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 25 February 2011
Abstract
We propose a new method for the determination of the electro-optic constant. Third-order nonlinear susceptibility (X(3)(-ω;ω,0, 0)) of polycarbonate films doped with 4-diethylamino-4′-nitrostilbene molecules was determined between 550 and 800 nm at room temperature by using this method. X(3)(-ω;ω0, 0) is (5-4i) × 10-12 esu at 600 nm.
