Abstract

Deformation microstructures in γ-TiAl + α2Ti3Al based low symmetry layered materials, with fully lamellar (FL) microstructures, have been simulated using micro-mechanical methods. In this particular effort we embed the specific contributions of scale and temperature dependent plastic anisotropies of individual colonies of Poly Synthetically Twinned (PST) lamellar TiAl and demonstrate their effect on overall defonnation and fracture response.
