Abstract

A nickel base superalloy, Alloy 718, has been studied by analytical electron microscopy in order to trace the development of the complex microstructure which is produced during a typical multistage thermal treatment. The distribution of δ γ″, γ′ and Laves phases was found to be strongly dependent on aging treatment.
