Encapsulated Silver Clusters as Oxidation Catalysts
Published online by Cambridge University Press: 15 February 2011
Abstract
A novel supported metal catalyst has been prepared, that consists of Ag clusters a few nanometers in diameter which are encapsulated in an amorphous silica coating only a few Ångstroms in thickness and are deposited on an oxide support. The synthesis of this catalyst and its physical characterization are described. Its potential use as a selective oxidation catalyst is discussed.
