Analysis of Transport Phenomena Occurring in Electron-Irradiated Sodium β-Alumina Crystals

Abstract

Auger analysis of sodium β-alumina crystals provides relevant insights concerning Na- transport along the c-axis. In particular, it allows to prove that sodium ion migration is stimulated by electron-irradiation, a result connected to electron-induced relaxation of lattice. Some aspects of the electric fields induced into a dielectric during Auger analysis are discussed.
