Abstract

A review is given on the properties of metals which are neither quite macroscopic, nor microscopic in Nature. Both the geometric and electronic structure of such Divided Metals is discussed, with a special emphasis on recent studies of colloidal metal particles of the transition elements, Pd, Pt, Cu, Ag and Au.
