Abstract

The chemistry of sol-gel processing of dye-doped, hybrid coatings for glass surfaces has been studied via FT-Raman-, NIR- and NMR-spectroscopy both in the liquid and solid state. Based on these results further investigations are presented aiming at the development of new hybrid pigments by spray drying of two-component sols. The properties of the resulting powders are discussed with respect to their morphology, migration behaviour and photostability.
