Abstract

A typical magneto-optic data storage medium consists of substrate, magneto-optic active layer, and dielectric layers. The properties of the involved materials are discussed based on their impact on the overall performance and reliability of the magneto-optic data storage media, with an emphasis placed on the key magneto-optic material requirements.
