Abstract

The influence of short range order, electron concentration and size misfit on the thermal stability of (Fe100-xMx)83B17 metallic glasses has been investigated (M = Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Mo, W). The results are discussed together with Curie-temperature measurements and Mößbauer spectroscopy data. The concentration range in which the various stable and metastable phases form is given.
