Abstract

Glass-ceramics appear to constitute a new generation in fine ceramic materials for microelectronic packaging. The distinction between glass-ceramics derived via internal nucleation and crystallization of bulk glass and those formed by sintering and surface devitrification of glass particulates is discussed.
