Contribution of Martenistic Transformations to the Plastic Behavior and the Mechanical Properties of Cr, Ni Austenitic Stainless Steels

Extract
The aim of this paper is to study the contribution afforded by strain induced martensitic transformation to the plastic behavior under monotonic or cyclic loadings and the mechanical properties of Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steels. The study concerns namely the low carbon 18/10 steel, commonly used in various fields of technics and particularly in cryogenics (liquid gases storage or transportation).
