A garnierite with a high nickel content from Western Australia

Summary
The garnierite, which occurs in the oxide zone overlying a nickel sulphide deposit, consists of talc-like and serpentine-like components, with the former predominating. Chemical and electron-probe analyses give NiO contents ranging between 39.6 and 43.9 weight %.
