On strictly singular and strictly cosingular embeddings between Banach lattices of functions

Abstract

Let E be a Banach function lattice such that L∞[0, 1] [rarrhk ] E [rarrhk ] L1[0, 1]. We characterize the strict singularity of the embedding L∞[0, 1] [rarrhk ] E and the strict cosingularity of E [rarrhk ] L1[0, 1] in terms of functionals defined by using characteristic functions.
