page note 175 * Even a faddist can find little to cavil at : there are a few “rules” in solid text which could have been avoided; the splendid old-style numeral fount is both beautiful and clear, but its zero is not suitable as a functional argument. These are minutiae hardly proper to be noticed in a review; but most of us know that the authors and the publisher are themselves stern critics of minutiae.
