A puzzle which introduces simple ideas relating to deduction within a mathematical system in a concrete and problem-oriented way is the following:

Find seven letters of the alphabet and seven three-letter words of the English language constructed from those letters such that each word contains three distinct letters and any two letters chosen from the seven letters belong to exactly one of the words.
