Abstract

This paper discusses the general requirements for inertial confinement fusion, technology requirements and choices, overall efficiencies, and laser system costs for scaling krypton fluoride amplifiers to high energy, and describes the design of a 100 kilojoule double-pass KrF power amplifier.
