IPA Council
Elections were held at the end of 2018 to choose twenty members of the Association’s Council to serve from 2019 to 2023. With 163 members voting, the following twenty nominees were elected:

Permanent Council for the ICPhS
In December 2018, a separate election was held to choose five IPA-elected representatives to the Permanent Council for the Organization of the International Congresses of Phonetic Sciences, to serve from 2019 to 2027. With 163 members voting, the following five nominees were elected:

IPA Executive Committee
In July 2019, the new IPA Council elected the following Executive Committee members to serve from 2019 to 2023: Michael Ashby, University College London (President), Amalia Arvaniti, University of Kent (Vice-President), Gerard Docherty, Griffith University (Secretary), Ghada Khattab, Newcastle University (Treasurer), Marija Tabain, La Trobe University (Editor).
The President, Michael Ashby, and the Vice-President, Amalia Arvaniti, will also serve as ex-officio members of the Permanent Council for the Organization of the International Congresses of Phonetic Sciences. Immediate past-President, Patricia Keating, remains a member of the Permanent Council by virtue of having been elected for a full eight-year term in 2015.
