Journal of Roman Archaeology acquired by Cambridge University Press

Cambridge University Press has reached an agreement to acquire the Journal of Roman Archaeology, to be published on behalf of the Press Syndicate of the University of Cambridge starting with the annual volume 34 (2021).

Since its launch in 1988 by John Humphrey and under his editorship, JRA has been widely recognised for its commitment to the broadest interpretation of the archaeology of all geographical regions within the Roman world. Considered the pre-eminent journal in its field, JRA is an essential publication for any scholar with an interest in the ancient world, whether archaeological, historical, or cultural. Since 2013 Cambridge has provided online hosting for JRA, enabling readers globally to access the journal via its Cambridge Core digital platform.

Starting with the annual volume 34 (2021), JRA will be edited by Dr. Jennifer Trimble (Associate Professor of Classics, Stanford University). With Cambridge’s support, Dr Trimble and the new Editorial team will maintain the journal’s reputation for excellence and high quality scholarship.

Enquiries about and payments for the annual volume 33 (2020), which was published as usual in early October, as well as all the back issues volumes 1-32, should continue to be sent to Laura Humphrey at [email protected] (phone 401-683-1955) until January 1, 2021.

All orders for titles in the Supplementary Series, including the new Supplement 109 which was published in August 2020, should continue to be sent to Laura Humphrey at [email protected] (phone 401-683-1955). The supplementary series and the titles currently in process will continue to be handled by John and Laura Humphrey through December 2022.
