Many of the tasks which have occupied the navigator ever since measurement and calculation were first applied to the subject are now being carried out or aided by technical devices. This has been going on for a long time, and I would like to consider how far we have got, and what will remain for the concern and interest of our Institute when this technical growth has fully matured.
