Psycho-Pathology and the Herd-Instinct

Extract

Without psychology there can be no psycho-pathology; and any advance that psycho-pathology may have made from time to time has in no small measure depended on corresponding progress previously achieved in the realm of psychology. The reason why psycho-pathology made little headway until comparatively recently may be found in the unfruitfulness—from a medical point of view—of classical psychology.
