The tracheostomal washer: a simple aid for tracheooesophageal speakers with a large tracheostome

Abstract

A simple device is described which enables the patient with a tracheo–oesphageal valve and a large tracheostome to easily occlude the stoma, avoiding the need for stomaplasty.
