1 These include a memoria de libros of 278 titles submitted to the Holy Office by a Mexico City book-seller, Paula de Benavides, Viuda de Bernardo Calderón, in 1683. This list, alphabetically arranged by the authors’ first name, appears to be distinct from another submitted in the same year by this book-dealer which the reviewer published in the Hispanic American Historical Review (vol. 27, no. 3 (August, 1947), p. 420-435). It had approximately the same number of titles similarly arranged.
