Professor Hrozny's Table of the Minoan Signary

Published online by Cambridge University Press:  23 December 2013

Extract

When the article on the Minoan Signary (pp. 1-4) was already in paged proof, I received from Professor Bedrich Hrozny of Prague an offprint of his Table of the same Signary in Archiv. Orientalni 16 (1948), 3-4, 162-184. ‘Listes des signes cretois et de leurs valeurs d'après notre déchiffrement’. For comparison with the Cretan signs he figures many Hittite, Indian (Mohenjidaro) Egyptian, Cuneiform, Sinaitic, Phoenician, Sabaean, Greek, and Cypriote signs, and offers phonetic equivalents for all the Minoan signs.
